DP World, Karachi in collaboration with LKMWT (Latif Kapadia Memorial Welfare Trust) had successfully hosted a "Free Eye Screening Camp" for "Truck Drivers" at Port Qasim. This camp was endeavored to create mass awareness amongst truckers about preventive care from eye diseases as well as early detection to ensure road safety. Pre-announcements were made to acknowledge the 'Truck Driver' about the camp.
Screened 241 patients and three major diseases Conjunctivitis, Myopia and Presbyopia were found common in them. 37 "Field workers" and 204 "Truck drivers" were provided awareness for prevention and medicine to care. 96 were suggested for focal glasses, 14 for reading optical and 4 were referred to the hospital for free surgery. -PR
