IHC bench hearing ex-NBP president's case dissolved
ISLAMABAD: Justice Aamir Farooq of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) Tuesday recused from hearing a petition of Saeed Ahmed challenging his removal as president of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP).
A division bench comprising Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhter Kiyani, which was to hear the former NBP president's plea, was dissolved after the latter's recused himself from the case.
The petitioner's counsel objected that Justice Aamir Farooq had remained associated with the NBP as its adviser and requested to court to send the matter to another bench.
After this, the bench sent the matter to the IHC chief justice form a new bench for hearing the case.
It may be mentioned here that the former NBP president had filed an intra court appeal against his removal from the key post.
