Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Sunday demanded a detailed investigation into leak of the controversial story to find out if the 'royal family' was behind it.
In response to a press conference by Interior Minister Nisar Ali Khan, he said that Pervaiz Rashid was not a kid who had passed on the information to a journalist. "This is a narrative of Narendra Modi and Indo-Israel lobby has been talking like this," he criticised the former information minister.
He said the controversial news was fed to the journalist and it must be probed to expose the characters behind it.
Khan also criticised Nisar for defending Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on issue of corruption and Panama leaks. "Listen to your conscience, Nisar. You need not to defend a corrupt man," he said.
He also appealed Nisar to ask Nawaz Sharif to present himself for accountability in the Panama leaks case and promised to call off his November 2 protest demonstration in the federal capital. "Does your conscience allow you to work under a corrupt man," he asked Nisar.
Referring to a television interview of the interior minister, Imran said that you (Nisar) had admitted in the interview that Nawaz Sharif bought the Mayfair properties in 1990s, but Nawaz Sharif has said that these properties were bought in 2005.
He said that these properties were bought with money laundered from Pakistan and the interior minister and others know this fact well.
Khan also said the PTI was arranging the protest in Islamabad against Nawaz Sharif because he has been caught red-handed in the Panama leaks.
Criticizing the government for blocking routes leading to his residence in Bani Gala, he said the PTI workers were being arrested and jailed for exercising their democratic right of protest against the government.
He said the interior minister's statements on law and order are inconsistent and stop harassing the PTI workers. "PTI has been doing popular politics with support of the people and this is our democratic right to protest against the government," he said.
Khan also questioned the interior minister for placing shipping containers across the Lal Haveli, residence of Awami Muslim League chief Shaikh Rashid Ahmed, and blocking other roads like Grand Trunk Road and Islamabad-Peshawar motorway that link Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with rest of Pakistan.
"PML-N is a party of only Punjab and it has been discriminating with other provinces," he accused the ruling party, saying the federal government was also doing discrimination with other provinces in China Pakistan Economic Corridor projects.
To a question, he said that Islamabad will automatically get lockdown when one million people reach to exercise their democratic right. "If the prime minister resigns, our protest will turn into jubilation," he said.
Earlier, clashes between law enforces and workers of the PTI continued on the fourth consecutive day outside residence of Imran Khan where heavy contingent of police and Frontier Constabulary have been deployed to keep a check on miscreants.
The police fired teargas shells on the workers in Bani Gala and arrested over a dozen as well. Over 500 members of Insaf Tigers Force (ITF) are camped on premises of Imran Khan's residence in Bani Gala.
The police also tried to bar entry of some prominent politicians and parliamentarians of the PTI including Dr Shireen Mazari to the residence of Khan, but they were all let go after negotiations with the law enforcers deployed there.
Meanwhile, Imran Khan held detailed discussion with legal team of the party on arrest and harassment of the PTI workers and urged them to expedite the process of getting the arrested workers released from jails on bail.
