Former Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Sunday said that the National Action Plan has not been able to deliver the desired results and the PPP would consider withdrawing support to it.
Talking to newsmen here, the former Prime minister said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari talked about the NAP as the PPP was being victimised.
He said that time has proved that the PPP government's decision for military operation against terrorists was right. He said at that time the PPP was criticised about the alleged wrong policies.
To a question, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said the PPP accepted the NAP and use of military force despite reservations.
He said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari gave his views as positive results are not coming from National Action Plan.
He said the PPP is a major political party in the country and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is its leader. He pointed out that the present leader of the opposition in the National Assembly and the Senate Chairman are from the PPP. He said therefore the statement of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari should be taken seriously. He said the Peoples party does not believe in political violence and verdicts of the court should be followed by both the parties, stating that protest is constitutional right of the PTI.
To another question, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said that former Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid could be investigated in the leakage of news.
He said the PPP government whole heartedly welcomed Mian Nawaz Sharif and Dr Tahirul Qadri during their protest march. He said when they left, the government had made arrangements for food and tea of the protestors.
