Victims of Nazimabad firing laid to rest

Funeral prayers of four persons who were shot dead by armed motorcyclists during a Majlis in Nazimabad on Saturday evening were offered, here on Monday. A large number of people from different walks of life such as religious scholars, politicians, social activists, and lawyers besides bereaved family members, relatives, and their friends attended the funeral prayers and procession at the compound of Khairul Amal Masjid Trust and Imam Bargah Sohda-e-Karbala Incholi.
Four slain people were laid to rest in famous Wadi-e-Hussain graveyard amid tears and cries. Muhammad Zaki Khan and his three nephews - Baqir Abbas Zaidi, Nayyar Mehdi, and Nasir Abbas were gunned down while four others were injured by gunmen just outside their home located in Nazimabad No-4 where a Majlis-e-Imam Hussain (mourning congregation) was being organized for women.
Speaking at the funereal, Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM)'s Deputy Secretary General Allama Ahmad Iqbal said that the PPP-led Sindh Government had failed to protect lives of citizens particularly of Shia Muslims. He said many innocent people lost their precious lives and several others injured in series of targeted attacks on mourning congregations (Majalis) during the holy month of Muharram in the metropolis. He said the law enforcement agencies failed to arrest the elements involved behind these attacks.
Lashing out at the Chief Minister Sindh and, IG Sindh Police he alleged that they were habitual of taking empty notices on every incident just to woo media coverage and feel that they fulfilled their responsibility. "This approach will never heal the sufferings of bereaved families. Government should take stern actions against terrorists of banned organisations and their supporters who are bent upon destroying peace and stability of the city," he urged.
On October 18, a teenaged boy Faraz Hussain was killed while some 20 others mostly women and children were injured when unknown men lobbed a cracker targeting Dar-e-Abbas Imambargah located in FC area of Liaquatabad No-4.
