National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) Regional Office Sindh organized a "National Skills Competition" in Memon Industrial & Technical Institute Karachi, here on Tuesday. About 200 trainees of different TVET Institutes (in private and public sector) participated and exhibited their skills in 11 diversified trades including welding, beautician, dress making, fashion designing, textile designing, fine arts, cooking, driving etc.
Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema, executive director NAVTTC was the chief guest of the ceremony. He appreciated the work of trainees saying that currently 25000 trainees were being imparted TVET training in different trades all over the country through NAVTTC. He said that in the upcoming skill development programs the number of target trainees was being increased to empower the unemployed and under-privilege youth of the country. He said the exercise was aimed at encouraging the youth to acquire technical and vocational skills and training.
