Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), an allied party of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday welcomed Supreme Court decision for establishment of a commission to probe Panama leaks. In a press conference, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi argued that we were the part of deliberations on investigation on Panama leaks, it's terms of reference (ToRs) and accountability of Mian Nawaz Sharif but the deliberations failed due to dishonest government.
"We always demand that those who named in Panama leaks must be interrogated and punishment should be given if they are proved guilty", he said. Hailing Supreme Court verdict, he said that it was a wise decision of the apex court which asked all the parties to submit their TOR till Thursday. In case, the parties do not agree on any TORs, the apex court will give its TORs, he said. "We have full faith in our courts that it will give justice in the case", he said.
He maintained that his party supported call of Imran Khan for Islamabad lockdown as both parties had the same stance on the panama leaks. He further alleged that Nawaz Shairf and Narendra Modi were on the same page, adding a conspiracy is being hatched in Prime Minister House against on of the institution of Pakistan. He flayed the government for defaming the military by feeding fabricated story to the media. He said that the issue of controversial news report must not end here and the responsibility must be fixed who leaked the story.
"Strict action should be taken against those involved in leaking out the story, involving the national security of the country. We stand by the military on national security matters", he maintained. Terming Punjab police's action against KP Chief Minister, Elahi said it was as a state terrorism. What kind of message the federal government wanted to send to smaller provinces, he said, adding. He lauded the bravery and courage of KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and those who received injuries due to heavy teargas shelling but did not escape despite all the state terrorism.
