RPL Programme: Tevta issues certificates to 27,000 uncertified skilled workers
Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) has issued nationally as well as globally recognised free certificates to 27,000 uncertified skilled workers in Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program up to 31st October, 2016. This program was started in April, 2015 and this target has successfully been achieved now.
It was stated by Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh while addressing the progress review meeting of RPL programme for uncertified skilled force through Ustad Shagird System here Tuesday at TEVTA Secretariat.
Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that PC-I have been approved for this program and it has been planned to register 28,000 uncertified skills during the current financial year. FREE REGISTRATION in 3rd phase of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) across the province of the Punjab is in progress. Uncertified skilled workforce will get certification after passing theory and practical test of concerned trade.
The admission criteria for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) include minimum age limit 19 years holding CNIC, minimum 2 years Industry experience, record of employment, use of skills and reference from the employer. Integrated assessment (knowledge, skill and attitude) theory & practical will be the basis for self-assessment.
Chairperson TEVTA further said that in addition to existing 15 trades of the RPL program, 8 more trades were added in the 2nd phase. This program has been designed according to the requirement of national and international market. Integrated assessment (knowledge, skill and attitude) theory & practical are the basis for self-assessment. It is completely free of cost and is helpful for skilled manpower who has not acquired formal skilled training. The certificate will be accepted at National and International level, he concluded. Chief Operating Officer Jawad Ahmed Qureshi, TEVTA Officers Akhtar Abbas Bharwana, Aamir Aziz, Azhar Iqbal Shad, Mustafa Kamal Pasha, Waheed Asghar, Maqsood Ahmed, Aisha Qazi, Uzma Nadia, Sarfraz Anwar and other officers were present on this occasion.
