Two more women accuse Alok Nath of sexual misconduct
Serious accusations of rape and sexual misconduct are being leveled against veteran TV/film actor Alok Nath, who is known for his respectable and pious image. After writer-producer Vinta Nanda, two more women have accused the actor for sexual abuse.
A female crew member of ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ shared her nightmarish experience of working with him. The woman recounted her experience during the last schedule of the film in Mumbai.
“We were shooting for a night scene and I had taken a change of costumes to him. Once I handed him the clothes, he started stripping in front of me. I was taken aback, and tried to make my way out of the room as soon as possible. When I tried to run out, he grabbed my hand and manhandled me. I remember yanking my hand out of his grip and rushing out of the room,” she alleged, Indian media reported.
Another accusation against the actor has come from television and film actor Sandhya Mridul. She revealed in a long Twitter post that at the start of her career, she had to shoot a telefilm with Alok and Reema Lagoo, who had to play her father and mother respectively.
While shooting for the same, the actor got drunk and misbehaved with her, she claimed. While having dinner one day, he forced her to sit with him and kept saying ‘she is mine’. The actress also revealed that during the shoot of the telefilm, one night he forcibly entered her room and tried to grab her and forced himself on her. Sandhya also said Alok kept harassing her, calling her late at night and knocking on her door after a drinking session every night.
Both Vinta and Sandhya have credited Tanushree Dutta for motivating them to come forward with their stories. Meanwhile, Sushant Singh, who is general secretary of the Cine & TV Artists Association (CINTAA), has assured Vinta that they will send a show cause notice to Alok.
