Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over a high-level meeting, here Wednesday which reviewed the matters regarding construction work of Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute and Research Center (PKLI).
Punjab Chief Minister said that state-of-the-art institute is being set up in the provincial metropolis for the treatment of kidney and liver diseases and it would be unique institution in this field. He said PKLI is an important project and should be completed expeditiously. He said PKLI is of utmost importance in the service of ailing humanity and there is a need to work on this project with commitment and dedication.
Shahbaz Sharif said provision of modern public health facilities is top priority of the government and it is implementing a programme for providing best possible treatment facilities to the people at their doorstep. The Chief Minister said a huge sum of rupees is being spent on the setting up of the hospital for provision of modern facilities of treatment of liver and kidney diseases.
Chief Executive Officer Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab gave a detailed briefing on the construction work of the project. Advisor Health Khawaja Salman Rafique, Additional Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning & Development, Secretaries Health and Finance departments, Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board and officers concerned were present in the meeting.
