Thick smog engulfed the city for second consecutive day on Wednesday, which decreased visibility on open areas and Motorway has decreased to 20-25 meters. Despite modest mercury, thick smog became a source of irritation for the public at large, as it is created serious breathing ailments and eye infections.
The MET office predicted a continuation of prevailing weather conditions during next 24 hours.
The density of smog thickened even at midday and people complained of feeling it inside their homes causing burning eyes and heavy breathing.
