The Karachi Port handled 103,157 tonnes of cargo comprising 87,114 tonnes of import cargo and 16,043 tonnes of export cargo including 2,126 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday
The total import cargo of 87,114 tonnes comprised of 16,805 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,558 tonnes of general cargo; 26,209 tonnes of total bulk cargo: 18,613 tonnes of coal; 2,070 tonnes of seeds; 335 tonnes of soyabean meal; 5,191 tonnes of palm kernel expeller and 40,542 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 16,043 tonnes comprised of 10,459 tonnes of containerised cargo; 195 tonnes of general cargo; 5,239 tonnes of talcum powder and 150 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 2,126 containers comprising of 1,172 containers import and 954 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 482 of 20's and 332 of 40's loaded while 26 of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 240 of 20's and 200 of 40's loaded containers while 146 of 20's and 84 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were eight ships namely Taroko, Tulip, MT Lahore, Western Santos, KSL Anyang, Bunga Lucerne, HTC Alfa and Carpe Diem-II carrying containers, oil tankers, seeds, chemical, steel and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were six vessels viz. MOL Explorer, Hyundai Tacoma, Asprouda, Stove Friend, Glovis Cosmos and Africa Glory carrying containers, oil tanker, fertiliser, vehicle and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There are two ships namely MOL Explorer and Hyundai Tacoma carrying containers respectively expected to sail on Friday.
There were five vessels viz. Alexandria Bridge, Al Mahboobah, KS Adonis, Marine Star and Nord Missouri carrying containers, chemical. Oil tanker and coal respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while five vessels viz. Al Farahidi, Lissy Schulte, MT Quetta, Pacific Leader and SIS Star carrying containers, oil tanker, steel and project cargo respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 59,731 tonnes comprising 30,600 tonnes of import cargo and 29,131 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,092 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 30,600 tonnes includes 44,390 tonnes of furnace oil; 1,700 tonnes of LPG; palm oil; 10,154 tonnes of canola seeds; 10,725 tonnes of chemical; 1,985 tonnes of project cargo and 59,489 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 29,131 tonnes includes 9,333 tonnes of cement and 19,798 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 1,092 containers comprising of 50 containers import and 1,042 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
There were two ships namely CV CMA CGM Thames and MT Brizo carrying containers and furnace oil respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while another ship namely MV Al Mahboobah carrying chemical is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of seven vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Thames, MV Bos Anggel, MV African Glory, MV Bonanza YR, MV Al Mahboobah, MT Brizo and MT Gas Esco currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, project cargo, canola seeds, chemical, diesel oil and LPG respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as ten ships namely MV Rainbow Lucky, MV Diamond Sea, MV Hoanya Wisdom, MT New Confidence, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Bneider, MT Ibn Sine, MT Bahra, MT New Naxos and MT Genie carrying steel coil, cement, rice, diesel oil and furnace oil were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Thursday.
There were three vessels viz. CV Mehuin, MV As-olivia and MT Bneider carrying containers, chemical and diesel oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday.
There were ten ships namely CV Safmarine Ngami, CV Newark, CV MSC Silvana, CV MSC Charleston, CV MSC Maeva, MV Zi Jing Song, MV Asolivia, MV Al-Kharasaah, MT Meditenamean and MT Shalamar carrying containers, project cargo, chemical, LNG, diesel oil and furnace oil respectively due to arrive on Thursday.
There are two ships namely CV San Francisco and CV Hansa America carrying containers due to arrive on Friday.
