On Wednesday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 2,952. The total traded value of Metals, Energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 6.36 billion and the number of lots traded was 12,127.
Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 3.7 billion, followed by currencies through COTS PKR 1.59 billion, crude oil PKR 701.94 million, silver PKR 258.48 million, copper PKR 6.04 million and cotton PKR 1.43 million. In addition to this, in agricultural commodities 110,005 lots of red chilli amounting to PKR 19.92 million were traded.
