The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) held its meeting under the chairmanship of Muhammad Azam Khan, the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa here Thursday. The meeting was attended by its members and respective administrative Secretaries. The forum considered 74 projects pertaining to different sectors including Home, Health, MSD, Water, Roads, DWSS, Buildings, Agriculture, Food, Elementary & Secondary Education, Auqaf and Law & Justice sectors for the upliftment of the province.
The forum approved 65 projects with an estimated cost of Rs.77366.942 millions. 9 projects were deferred due to inadequate designs.
In the Home Sector approved projects include Construction of Watch Towers in Cantonment & Rural Division for Enhanced Security in Funnel Area of Bacha Khan International Airport Peshawar, Special Development Support for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and Creation of Model Police Stations (SDSP-V), Re-Construction of District Jail Swat, Enhancing Security of Jails in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, F/S & Construction of Admin Blocks and Barracks for Prison Security Force (Watch & Ward Staff) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In the Health Sector approved projects include the up-gradation of Saidu Group of Hospitals for Teaching Purpose of Saidu Medical College, Strengthening Health Management Information System/District Health Information System in KPK, National program for Family Planning & Primary System/District Health Information System in KPK, Purchase of Equipment and Furniture for Various ADP Schemes, Establishment of DHQ Hospital (Category-C) at Judbah, District Tor Ghar, on need basis, Integration of Health Services Delivery with special focus on MNCH, LHW, EPI and Nutrition Programme (DFID & AusAid Assisted), Establishment of Safe Blood Transfusion Project (Phase-II) (KfW Assisted).
In the Multi Sectoral Development Sector approved projects include Governance and Policy Reforms Programme KPK, Establishment of M&E System in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Payment of Liabilities of Agricultural Research Station Buner, Re-organisation of SDU, P&D Department, Piloting Innovative Ideas to address key issues of KPK referred to Agriculture Department.
In the Water Sector approved projects include Construction of Jaroba Dam District Nowshera, Construction of Chapra Dam in District Haripur, Raising of Baran Dam Bannu (Detail Design Component), Providing Flood Protection structures in Rivers, Nullah & Hill torrents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Feasibility study/ Preparation of comprehensive Flood Management plan for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, polarisation of existing irrigation Tube wells in Badaber, Koh-e-Daman and adjoining areas of District Peshawar, Construction of Flood Structures along JabbaDaudzai and ZangalKoroona areas along Kabul and Shah Alam Rivers District Nowshera & Peshawar, Construction / improvement of Bridges on Canal and Drainage Systems in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Detailed Design and Construction of Pehur High Level Canal Extension District Swabi, Construction of 20 small dams in KPK (Multiple Districts), improvement of roads along canals and drains.
