On Friday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 2,941. The total traded value of Metals, Energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 3.33 billion and the number of lots traded was 8,308. Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 1.97 billion, followed by currencies through COTS PKR 696.68 million, crude oil PKR 570.54 million, silver PKR 81.84 million, copper PKR 2.13 million and cotton PKR 1.43 million. In addition to this, in agricultural commodities, 81.720 lots of red chilli amounting to PKR 14.48 million were also traded.
