Concrete steps for development & prosperity in Chitral & Buner
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has welcomed the representatives of local bodies and workers of different political parties of districts Chitral and Buner to the fold of PTI and assured for concrete steps for the development and prosperity of both the districts.
“We have multiple challenges and therefore evolved a comprehensive strategy for the overall development and prosperity of the province ensuring the share of each district in the developmental strategy,” he added.
He said that the weaknesses of local government system was being removed to make it effective, efficient and durable adding that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab would have one and the same local government system and the developmental exercise would be carried out by local government system in their respective districts.
He was addressing a joining ceremony in Chief Minister House Peshawar wherein former Tehsil Nazim Chitral led delegation comprising different political workers and local bodies representatives announced joining PTI.
From district Buner, a delegation led by village Nazim Muhammad Iqbal Khan and Tehsil Councillor Sher Malik Khan comprising local representatives and political workers of different political parties formally joined PTI.
Speaker Provincial Assembly Mushtaq, MPAs Syed Fakhar Jehan, Wazirzada, Riaz Khan, District President PTI Chitral Abdul Lateef, Sartaj Ahmad Khan and other leaders also addressed at the occasion.
Welcoming the new entrants to the fold of PTI, the Chief Minister termed their decision the right one heralding a change in the area. He called upon the people to be careful in exercising their vote for the local bodies elections.
The people ought to elect their representatives in the forthcoming local bodies elections who are capable having the zeal and spirit to work for collective development and wellbeing of the people. The existing local government system is being streamlined under the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan so that the local government could plan their own development.
He assured taking all out steps to resolve the problems of Districts Chitral and Buner. He reiterated his firm commitment that each and every district would get its due share and attention in the uniform developmental strategy adding that he was fully aware of the potential of tourism and natural resources of Chitral and would work on them adding that right from Chakdara to Chitral Motorway has been recommended as alternative route for CPEC.
This would change the destiny of the area and its people. He assured to fulfill the promise of PTI previous government for the creation of district Upper Chitral. Mahmood Khan underlined the need for collective efforts to meet the different kinds of challenges that we inherited and that threatened the very foundation of the country.
“We have to work for the sustained economic growth and durable prosperity adding that he was committed to the development of the province. We will develop our own resources and we would get our share from the federation and assured a better future for the people of the province,” he added.
