The Karachi Port handled 205,402 tonnes of cargo comprising 171,204 tonnes of import cargo and 34,198 tonnes of export cargo including NA loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 171,204 tonnes comprised of 28,183 tonnes of containerised cargo; 36 tonnes of general cargo; 44,868 tonnes of total bulk cargo: 18,190 tonnes of coal; 18,895 tonnes of DAP; 2,783 tonnes of soyabean meal; 5,000 tonnes of rock phosphate and 98,117 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 34,198 tonnes comprised of 27,484 tonnes of containerised cargo; 120 tonnes of general cargo; 1,864 tonnes of rice and 4,730 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. There were three ships namely Taroko, Kota Lahir and Kota Kasturi carrying containers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were four vessels viz. Kota Kasturi, MOL Experience, APL Pearl and Asia Zircon-II carrying containers and rock phosphate respectively currently at the berths. There were five ships namely Hammonia Virginia, MT Karachi, Ardmore Engineer, Aziz Torlak and Mare Forum carrying containers, oil tankers, molasses and DAP respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday while two ships namely Classy Victoria and Apogee Spirit carrying oil tanker and DAP respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
There were five vessels viz. Hyundai Jakarta, Wan Hai-511, Sabya, Glovis Melody and Maria carrying containers, coal and steel respectively due to arrive on Thursday while seven vessels viz. Cosco Wellington, Hyundai Pakland, MSC Positano, MT Quetta, Dong A Peneus, Octaden and Ping An Song carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Friday.
The total import cargo of 74,275 tonnes includes 26,700 tonnes of furnace oil; 7,490 tonnes of palm oil; 3,566 tonnes of fertilizer; 6,211 tonnes of chemical; 1,808 tonnes of project cargo and 28,500 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 43,470 tonnes includes 1,670 tonnes of rice and 41,800 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,700 containers comprising of 1,500 containers import and 2,200 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday. There was one ship namely MV GSW Future carrying chemical sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while two more ships namely CV CMA CGM Uruguay and MT Sea Marshal carrying containers and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eight vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Uruguay, CV Maersk Stepnica, MV Thai Binh Bay, MV Ping An Song, MV Unico Sienna, MT GSW Future, MT Ardmore Duntless and MT Sea Marshal currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, rice, project cargo, furtilizer, chemical, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as twelve ships namely MV Thai Binh Bay, MV Diyaa B, MV Kavo Platanos, MV Black Marlin, MV Lia-M, MV Talla, MV Atlatic Glory, MT Epic Boliver, MT New Confidence, MT Rise Fortune, MT Shalamar and MT Harmony carrying rice, sunflower seeds, project cargo, cement, chemical, LPG, diesel oil and furnace oil were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Thursday.
There were three vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Maupassant, MV Atlantic Glory and MT New Confidence carrying containers, chemical and diesel oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday. There was one ship namely CV CMA CGM Maupassant carrying containers due to arrive on Thursday.
