Mayor of Karachi Waseem Akhtar has urged Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of PPP to grant local representatives the powers that his grandfather, late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had reserved pertaining to local bodies. While talking to the media outside Sindh Assembly, Akhtar said that Karachi would not need a targeted operation and a National Action Plan (NAP) if leaders focus on development that's what he vowed as the mayor.
He wished to visit the assembly before practically begin work as mayor of Karachi since he was jailed ever since his election to the post. On the occasion, Akhtar thanked Bilawal for raising voice for his release. Khawaja Izharul Hassan, Leader of the Opposition in Sindh Assembly reminded Bilawal of his promise of convening a meeting with him.
