State Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Jamal Kamal Khan will inaugurate today the 23rd Annual Technical Conference (ATC)-2016, scheduled to be held on 22-23 November. Chairman of Conference Muhammad Zafarullah while talking about event here on Monday said that theme of the conference is oil pricing, domestic challenges and exploration & production (E&P) strategies.
The conference is being organised with the collaboration of Pakistan Association of Petroleum Geoscientists (PAPG) and Society of Petroleum Engineer (SPE). The keynote address will be delivered by Prady Darcy, the nominated President of SPE- 2018. Muhammad Zafarullah informed that the ATC is a premier event of Pakistan petroleum industry, and will be attended by over 1,000 delegates from E&P companies, service providers, academia and regulatory bodies.
The professionals will deliberate on application of innovative technologies and share their experiences to meet the challenges of energy and solutions through local energy resources. This forum provides excellent opportunity for academia to directly interact with the industry and discuss prevailing technical issues and problems related to energy security in Pakistan.
This event will host over 36 professional presentations and 24 student presentations along with panel discussion on the theme of the conference. The ATC organising committee has arranged two pre-conference courses. These courses will be conducted by renown professionals from world known service companies M/s Schlumberger and M/s Weatherfoard, to learn from the best practices around the world and a geological excursion trip. The conference will cover different topics in two-day sessions in which representatives of Ministry of Petroleum, different provinces and CEOs of companies operating in Pakistan will participate and discuss the opportunities available and related problems in various part of the country.
The conference is likely to be attended by 125 delegates from the twenty two (22) universities in Pakistan; the student will participate in paper contest for healthy activities in the institutions and to promote the industry. The inauguration ceremony of the Conference on November 22 will be chaired by Jam Kamal Khan, State Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, and it will be addressed by Chairman PAPG Abdul Wahid Chughtai while Chairman ATC Conference Muhammad Zafarullah will give the vote of thanks.
