Locally-manufactured unmanned aircraft system (UAS), which is cost effective and suitable for aerial surveillance of CPEC route, is going to be displayed in IDEAS-2016. Talking to Business Recorder, Raja Sabri Khan, chief executive of Integrated Dynamics said that UAS had the capacity of 12 to 15 hours endurance and known as 'ARROW.'
He said it was developed after 14 years of Research and Development (R&D). he said that this light weight and inexpensive UAS could be one of the most suitable options for security agencies for aerial surveillance of CPEC route "Arrow, which has a capacity of 12-15 hours endurance or fly up to 1500km in 30 gallon fuel, is able to monitor the whole CPEC route," he said, adding that ARROW was a new concept in aerial surveillance using Optionally Piloted Vehicle (OPV) and converted ultra-light aircraft with field portability and one-hour assembly time on site with the unique wing-fold system. It is a great armament, payload delivery and stand-off surveillance platform.
He said the ability to lift 100-150 kg payloads, sensors, and armament for day/night operations coupled with a 300+mile (500+ km) operating radius made it an excellent observation platform for CPEC route.
"It can be optionally supplied with our GSP-1200 gyro stabilised day/night PTZ camera system and telemetry downlink giving it a real-time video/date transmission link of 200+km," he said, adding that the ARROW required 200-300 feet unprepared dirt strip for field operations and could be packed in a standard truck-mounted 20-ft container. The simplicity and ease of operation greatly reduce operator training and improve aircraft survivability.
