Thousands of doctors having their specialisation completed from Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) are serving in medical education institutions and hospitals both in Pakistan and abroad.
Principal PGMI and Lahore General Hospital (LGH) Professor Ghias un Nabi Tayyab said that Ameer ud Din Medical College attached with PGMI and LGH has also set a new record of excellence by securing first position in the province in first Professional MBBS results just after a few years of its establishment.
Lahore General Hospital has also rendered great services by providing medical cover to as many as 1.5 million patients during last fiscal year, he said while briefing the 44th Common trainee officers of Civil Services Academy who were on a study visit to Lahore.
Professor Ghias un Nabi Tayyab threw light on the ongoing development projects for the hospital and said that philanthropists are also co-operating with the hospital towards the sacred mission of serving ailing humanity as without their assistance, the government cannot deliver effectively. He said that PGMI is playing the role of Pakistan's ambassador as a large number of doctors belonging to neighbouring countries get admissions for medical specialisation at PGMI. The officers also visited various wards and part of hospital.
