The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PPDWP) approved the development scheme of education sector with an estimated cost of Rs 9144.339 million. The scheme was approved in special meeting of PPDWP of current fiscal year 2016-17, presided over by the Chairman P&D Board, Punjab Jehanzeb Khan.
Secretary P&D Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, all members of the Planning & Development Board, provincial secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting. According to spokesman for P&DD, the approved development scheme included provision of laptops at the cost of Rs 9144.339 million. It may be noted Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has already accorded approval to purchase of 150,000 laptops during current financial year for distributed on merit during current financial year.
