Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has directed for taking all necessary steps to ensure admissions in Nowshera Medical College in the light of the decision of Peshawar High Court to save the precious time of students. The Chief Minister has asked the students to contact joint admission committee Khyber Medical College to be registered for admission properly. He directed for commencement of classes should be announced as soon as possible.
He issued these directives, following the decision of Peshawar High Court to ensure admission and other facilities to students, fulfilling all the criterion based facilities for recognition of the medical college by PMDC. It is pertinent to note that recognition and admission of Nowshera Medical College had been in doldrums since 2014. The PMDC had been using delaying tactics in recognising and starting admissions in the college despite availability of building for the college, hostels, required faculty and other requirements.
The college administration had also deposited Rs 2.1 million to PMDC as its fee while students were facing difficulties due to not allowing the college to admit them by PMDC. The students of the college had challenged the delaying tactics of PMDC in Peshawar High Court in January this year.
