The business community of Southern Punjab has hailed the decision of Saudi Arabian government to grant a two-year multiple visa to Pakistani businessmen as recommended by the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).
President of Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi said, "We are thankful to Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Abdullah Marzouk Al-Zahrani and President of the FPCCI Abdul Rauf Alam who played their key role in attaining this facility." Roomi said Pakistani businessmen were facing manifold problems in Saudi Arabia in dealing with business community. "Saudi Government should take initiative for exchange of trade delegations, strengthening ties and facilitating the Pakistani businessmen."
Roomi said "We want to enhance cooperation with Saudi Arabia in various fields including trade, commerce and culture."
He said it was a good news that Saudi Arabia was injecting new dynamism into its economy through a productivity and investment led transformation that would help ensure future growth, employment, and prosperity and Saudi Arabia's economy was moving beyond oil which was also a great opportunity for Pakistani investors.
Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi said "we can invest the sectors include agriculture, honey and beverages, processed food, oil, gas, petrochemicals, power including solar and other renewable energy, water and wastewater, financial and professional services.
Education, training and human capital development, mass transport infrastructure including new rail, metro and bus links, environmental technology and services, ICT, consumer and luxury goods, security services, healthcare and life sciences, and mining are also among the sectors Pakistani businessmen can invest in, he added.
