Black Horse Paints/Sapphire edged out HW Couture by 6-5 in a nail-biting match to qualify for the main final of the Sukhchan Polo Cup 2016 here at the Lahore Polo Club (LPC) ground on Friday. HW Couture hammered the first goal of the match through Taimur Mawaz Khan which was soon levelled by Black Horse's Hissam Ali Hyder to finish the chukker at 1-1. Similarly, if one team scored a goal, the one levelled it and in the same way, it was 5-5 in the fourth and last chukker.
When both the teams were locking horns at 5-5 in the final chukker, it was being expected the chukker would be ended in draw, and the match would be decided in the sudden death chukker. But in very last moment of the chukker, when first whistle was blown and the second was on the cards, Babar Monnoo came from behind and thwarted a tremendous match-winning goal to provide Black Horse a thrilling triumph. The thrilling encountered was witnessed, cheered and lauded by a great number of polo lovers, and Lahore Press Club officials and executive committee members. HW Couture, the losing side of the day, has qualified for the subsidiary final. The main and subsidiary finals will be taken place on Sunday at the Lahore Polo Club ground.
