Pakhtunkhwa Lassa Tehreek (PUT) expressed severe resentment over the statement of former governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehta Abbasi regarding referendum in FATA and asked the governor to apologize his statement in which he attempted to divide Pashtu's. "Being a senior politician and remaining on several key positions, it does not suit with former governor to issue such statement to shows his narrow mindedness", Convener PUT Dr Said Alma Mehsud said this while addressing press conference in Peshawar Press Club on Saturday.
He said that the former governor has issued an irresponsible statement and this is not his personnel statement but actually he has spoken the language of others. Flanked by Haji Gul Rahman of Mohamed Agency, Malik Ghulam Hussain Bangsh, Yusuf Anwar of Pakistan Mazdor Kisan Party and Ghalib Afridi of Khyber Agency, Dr Said Alam said that they would write a letter to all the eight political parties who are raising voice for the Pakhtun rights aimed to unite on a single platform.
He said that the governor does not respect the opinion of those who rendered great sacrifices for country. He said that thousand of tribal people displaced in the military operation during war against terrorism and thousands of them were martyred but still their sacrifices are not counted and their opinion is not being respected on this important issue.
Dr Mehsud Alam said that the committee constituted by the Prime Minister for FATA reforms has presented their report in the national Assembly in which they have demanded merger of FATA in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but despite of this KP governor issued controversial statement in his interview with a national daily.
He said that earlier Nawaz Sharif made the CPEC a controversial issue and now Punjab establishment using Mehtab Abbasi for issuing statements to divide Pakhtuns' resources and their territory. PUT convener said that Pakhtunkhwa Ulassi Tehreek demands former governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehtab Abbasi to tender apology from the people of KP and FATA. They also demanded federal to hold a referendum for a united Pakhtunkhwa including Pakhtun areas of Balochistan, FATA and Margalla hills.
He announced that PUT does not accept the constitution of 1973 and demands to give equal rights to all nationals as per the 23rd March 1940 resolution. He added that the entire Pakistani nation should be treated equally and give them equal representation in national assembly, senate, army, navy, air force, Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC), foreign offices and Federal Corporation.
"We will also write a letter to Mahmood Khan Achakzai to convene the session of those political parties and restore their old alliance of Pakistan oppressed Nations Movement(PONM)", he demanded a united Pakhtunkhwa province from Chitral to Bolan and from the Margala hills to Waziristan.
