Despite tall claims of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police regarding strict security arrangements in the city, the criminal elements went on rampage during the past week and struck at seven different places, depriving citizens of millions of rupees and lifting four vehicles. According to the crime statistics collected by Business Recorder here on Saturday, the robbers and auto thieves had a field day in the limits of Ramana, Industrial Area and Shalimar police stations during the last week.
During the same period, the various police stations of the city also registered 10 cases of dishonoured cheque. Ramana police station registered one case each of fake cheque, robbery and murder.
According to details, a resident of sector G-11/4, Ghulam Mustafa informed Ramana police station that his maid along with unknown robbers had allegedly stolen 30 tolas (approximately 360 grams) of gold and prize bonds from his house. In another incident, Masood Ahmad informed Ramana police station that his daughter has been killed. According to police, the murder accused is an addict and spends most of his earning on drugs.
Shalimar police station registered three fake cheque cases and one case of robbery during the last week. Professor Munawar Shah of sector F-11/4 lodged a complaint with the Shalimar police station that gold ornaments and other valuables had been stolen from his house. He suspected that his housemaid might be involved in the incident.
During week under review, Industrial Area police station registered one case of auto theft. Shahid Mehmood lodged a complaint with the Industrial Area police station that his bike had been stolen. Muhammad Anees of Pakistan Town informed Lohi Bher police station that unidentified robbers stole gold, cash and other valuables from his house. During the last week, Bari Imam, Bani Gala, Sabzi Mandi and Nilor police stations registered one case each of robbery. Sihala and Aabpara police stations registered one case each of auto theft.
