PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has accorded a herculean task of the revival of the party to the newly appointed provincial president, Mohammad Hamayun Khan. The PPP was once the top popular political party of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa giving tough time to nationalist ANP, PML-N, JUI-F and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in both general and LB polls. But, in last general elections of May 2013 it was marginalized as only its three candidates made it to the provincial assembly.
The vacuum created due to declined in the popularity of PPP was filled by the PTI. For party reorganization, Bilawal Bhutto has announced new office-bearers for the provincial chapter as Hamayun Khan as provincial president, Akhundzada Chitan as senior vice president, Faisal Karim Kundi, general secretary, Usman Saifullah as deputy general secretary and Robina Khalid as secretary information. The new office-bearers are mostly young and energetic and proved loyalty with the party leadership in all pros and cons. However, the question is their efforts for the reorganization of the political party, whose popularity graph is on decline for last three to four years.
The people of the province in general and PPP workers in particular has welcome the nomination of the office-bearers for the provincial cabinet. A large number of party workers are visiting the residence of Hamayun Khan on daily basis.
In this connection, Hamayun Khan has expressed optimism for the revival of the lost popularity of the party in the province. He said that after the foundation day anniversary of the party in Lahore, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will hold separate workers convention of the all provincial chapters of the party.
