A ceremony in honour of newly-appointed Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat will be held today (Monday) at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
Upon General Hayat's arrival at GHQ, he will be presented a guard of honour by a contingent of tri-services. According to ISPR, the ceremony will be attended by high-level officers from three services. The rehearsal for change of command ceremony was going on at General Headquarters in full swing.
The change-of-command ceremony will also take place on Tuesday, November 29 in Rawalpindi. The outgoing Army Chief General Raheel Sharif will formally hand over military's command to the newly-appointed Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
Top military officers, diplomats, parliamentarians, ministers and others would participate in the ceremony.
In a message on twitter, DG ISPR Lieutenant General Asim Bajwa on Sunday, said: "Rehearsals for COAS change of Comd [command] ceremony [is] in full swing at GHQ. Final ceremony will be held on Tuesday 29th November 2016."
Meanwhile, he clarified that the newly-appointed Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa has no social media account.
Director General ISPR Asim Bajwa said that General Qamar Bajwa has zero presence on social media and all social media platforms accounts on his name are fake.
