Karachi NA-258 by-election on November 29

By-election in NA-258 Karachi constituency will be held on Monday.
The seat fell vacant after the resignation of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Abdul Hakeem Baloch from the party and joining Pakistan People's Party (PPP). 11 candidates from different political parties are contesting the elections. There are 408163 registered voters in the constituency, which includes 241792 male and 166821 female voters.
Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had announced the by-election on 22nd November. The poll date later extended to 24th November due to the administrative reasons.
The election was again rescheduled after Director General Rangers (Sindh) Major General Bilal Akbar had informed the election commission that the para-military agency has been busy in the arrangements of IDEAS 2016 defense exhibition.
The provincial government has announced a public holiday on the occasion. All federal and provincial institutes will remain close.
