Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper deliver stunning romantic tale in ‘A Star is Born’
The $36 million-budgeted romantic drama film ‘A Star is Born’ featuring Hollywood actor Bradley Cooper and actor-turned singer Lady Gaga, recently hit theatres worldwide and is getting amazing response from the movie goers.
The film is in second place on the box office just behind Sony’s ‘Venom’, which is expected to be the top movie of the weekend. Rank is immaterial, as the Tom Hardy/Michelle Williams superhero origin story is performing above expectation.
The reboot of the Hollywood film first made in 1937, and remade in 1954 and 1976, paints a realistic picture of the music industry, addiction and relationships. The movie is about Maine, a country musician on a downward spiral. He meets Ally (Lady Gaga), an upcoming artist who works in a restaurant. Ally and Maine are fleshed out—real people with real struggles.
Cooper plays her mentor, with an attachment to drugs and alcohol. He’s drunk when he meets her – at a club, and he’s drunk throughout much of their relationship. Nonetheless, she still loves him and tries to cover when it’s clear others want him out of the picture.
It’s about self-destruction, ambition, heartbreak, addiction and sacrifice. Above all, it’s beautiful, moving cinema with passionate storytelling and a breakthrough performance by Lady Gaga.
