Business Community has expressed full confidence that New Army Chief would come out gracefully and honourably from these crisis and would raise the image of the armed forces like General Raheel Sharif, play a leading role in accelerating the image of Pakistan and bringing peace, sustainability and stability in the country, a pre-requisite for the economic development of the country.
They welcome the newly appointed Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and paying tribute to the outgoing Chief General Raheel Sharif (Rtd) for his marvelous services towards the country. Congratulating General Qamar Javed Bajwa on his appointment as the new Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) and General Zubair Hayat as Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and assuming new responsibilities, Senior Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Shaikh Khalid Tawab said that the entire nation and the Business Community is with the new leadership of the army and wish them good luck.
He hoped that the newly appointed CoAS would definitely carry his precursor General Sharif's legacy forward to wipe out terrorism and the mission to restore peace in Karachi and combating the challenges from India. The SVP FPCCI assured his full cooperation and support to the newly appointed CoAS and Joint Chief of Staff in addressing the pressing internal as well as external challenges and treats.
FPCCI Vice President, Riaz Khattak said on Tuesday that it is the finest day of country where change in command was held gracefully and the General Qamar Javed Bajwa assumed his new responsibilities of the best army in the world. I wish him best of luck and expect that he will continue on the same wisdom and continue the same pace where his preceded hand over.
Khattak said the outgoing chief done remarkable services especially eliminating the terrorism from this soil including starting the Karachi operation with the approval of the Government, we also expect that Karachi operation will continue on the same pace till the final conclusion so that economic hub would be restore properly which was very much required to enhance the country economic growth.
Regional Chairman of FPCCI Standing Committee, Ahmad Jawad said today country once again blessed with a professional person to serve Pakistan Army in the name of General Qamar Bajwa. I congratulate him on assuming his new and important reasonability. Jawad said the new CoAS would do well to keep his telly switched off. As it is there is a complicated, challenging agenda that he has to start addressing practically within hours of his elevation.
He also said on another side an opportunity may arise for a diplomatic initiative between India and Pakistan. Sartaj Aziz will be in India next week for the first high-level visit from Pakistan in months to attend heart of Asia conference. Since Indian foreign minister Sushma Swaraj is indisposed, he is likely to meet only the two ministers of state, V K Singh and M J Akbar and the foreign secretary.
While little more than a courtesy meeting between Aziz and PM Narendra Modi is envisaged, a meeting with NSA Ajit Doval could signal intent to break the ice and might be India could realize its violation on LOC, Jawad added. Chairman of United Business Group (UBG) Iftikhar Ali Malik, Patron-in-Chief, S.M. Muneer, Chief Spokesman, Gulzar Firoz, UBG Presidential candidate Zubair Tufail, Shaikh Riazuddin, Senator Ilyas Ahmed Bilour, Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan, Zubair Ahmed Malik, Tanweer Ahmed Shaikh, Abdul Sami Khan, Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Engr. Daroo Khan and Mrs. Naheed Masud in a joint statement said that the Prime Minister, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif made the right decision appointing Lieutenant General Qamar Javed Bajwa as Chief of Army Staff and he maintained the Army discipline for appointing Chief of Army Staff on merits. Similarly the business community congratulated Lieutenant General Zubair Hayat as Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee and wished him all the success in his capacity as Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee.
