Chairman Pakistan People's Party Bilawal Bhutto had assured of democratic reforms at all levels, including social, economic, bureaucratic and judicial reforms without which no justice was possible. "The PPP would bring a new manifesto and a new agenda to take Pakistan forward," he added. He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of 49th Foundation Day celebrations at the Bilawal House, Bahria Town, Lahore, on Wednesday.
An impressive gathering of party workers welcomed him on the stage. He said the PPP would engage all sections of society to bring in democratic and social reforms that would help revive the society. "We will bring system of equality in the country. Bilawal would bring revolution soon after assuming power," he claimed.
He warned that he would not let anybody rig the next elections. "Bhutto's party would win 2018 elections with the help of party workers," he added. Earlier, he started his speech with three words: "I love Lahore." He said Lahore always welcomed the PPP. In 1967, he recalled, his grandfather ZA Bhutto had won the heart of Lahorites. He said Shaheed ZA Bhutto had succeeded in bringing a revolution from this city. In 1986, he further recalled, the city of Lahore had extended an unprecedented welcome to Mohtarma Beanzir Bhutto. Therefore, the PPP has chosen Lahore to bring revolution under his leadership.
He asked PM Nawaz Sharif to fulfil his four demands otherwise 27th December is not far away when Bhutto's force would be on streets. He warned that the whole of Lahore would be out on streets with him against the government. "The PMLN has paid no heed to my demands. I have asked nothing for myself but for the rights of people. I am asking for strengthening the Parliament and democracy. I am neither asking for dictatorial judiciary nor for kangaroo courts. I am asking for democratic justice and equality," he explained.
He repeated his four demands, including constitution of Parliamentary committee on national security, passage of PPP's Panama bill, implementation of Asif Zardari's resolution on CPEC and an immediate appointment of a foreign minister. He said Benazir Bhutto had recited a poem when she returned to Lahore and then he repeated the same by reading the popular poem "Mein Baghi Hun".
