Terming 24th constitutional amendment as a move aimed at saving the sitting prime minister, Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) senior leader Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has criticised the rulers for their indifferent attitude towards fulfilling its basic obligations. Speaking at a reception hosted in honour of those party activists, who were arrested ahead of PTI's sit-in, Elahi expressed concern over poor law & order situation in Punjab.
"People in Punjab are not safe even in their houses and shops, what to talk about situation on roads and bazaars. Worst law and order situation in the province is because of the reason that Rangers were not allowed to carry out operation," he said.
He claimed the rulers had bartered away Punjab in the NFC Award for becoming the prime minister more than two times and securing power in Punjab. Contrary to our stance, rulers deprived Punjab of quota of electricity and gas on the basis of consumption. Elahi said he is starting visits to the districts in connection with reorganisation of the party. Tariq Bashir Cheema MNA, Chaudhry Zaheeruddin, Muhammad Basharat Raja, Aamir Sultan Cheema, Dr Muhammad Afzal and others were present.
