Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday blamed a few Baloch politicians for striking backdoor deals with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to hide several key decisions from the Baloch people. He was addressing the PPP Balochistan representatives on the second day of 49th Foundation Day celebrations at the Bilawal House, Lahore. PPP stalwarts and party workers assembled from across the country to join the celebrations. Bilawal was offered traditional turban on the occasion.
He also criticised the PML-N led Balochistan government for being loyal to the 'Raiwind throne,' than to the Baloch people. He said the PPP would restore the confidence of people of Balochistan in democracy. "PPP will win the 2018 elections in Balochistan," he claimed, saying that the next chief minister would be an ethnic Baloch from his party.
Furthermore, he criticised the federal government for ignoring the rights of smaller provinces in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He pointed out that voices in favour of the CPEC are quite common in Punjab, but no one is raising voice for the rights of the provinces. Bilawal said the PPP would set up political wings at the tehsil level in Balochistan. Earlier on Thursday, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah called on Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif. The two provincial heads discussed matters of interprovincial harmony at the meeting.
