While the mid-year review for Punjab Annual Development Programme (ADP) for 2016-17 would be held in January 2017, preparation of ADP for 2017-18 would also begin from that month. Punjab Minister for Planning and Development, Malik Nadeem Kamran said this while chairing his first progress review briefing on implementation of Annual Development Programme 2016-17 in the Punjab province.
According to him, the Punjab government is committed to accelerate for completion of all development projects within time before new election. Metro Bus Project in Multan has now been completed and it would be opened soon for general public, he said. Provincial Secretary P&D, Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, all members P&D Board, all senior chiefs of development sectors, Additional Secretary P&D, Chiefs of P&D and other officials of P&D department attended the briefing session.
Nadeem Kamran said that the government remains committed to improve pace and quality of economic development in the province. This was a big challenge for Punjab government to spend public money in a transparent manner on development projects in the light of good quality and fast speed, he said.
He also said that departmental coordination system, during the development process, would be made effective. Difficulties and hurdles in development process would be removed instantly. "We should work together as a good team for the cause of good nation." Iftikhar Ali Sahoo while giving detailed briefing said that the Planning & Development department was the mother of all departments. In the current development budget, Punjab government jumped the social sector with the fund allocations of 46 percent.
