The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) held its meeting under the chairmanship of Muhammad Azam Khan, the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa here Friday. The meeting was attended by Shahab Ali Shah, Secretary P&D Department, its members and respective administrative secretaries.
The forum considered 51 projects pertaining to different sectors including Elementary & Secondary, Higher Education, Sports & Tourism, Agriculture, Health, Social Welfare, water, Local Government, Multi Sectoral Development, Roads, ST&IT and DWSS sectors for the uplift of the province. The forum approved 38 projects with an estimated cost of Rs 23328.215 millions. 13 projects were deferred due to inadequate designs.
The projects approved in the Elementary & Secondary Education Sector were included Strengthening of Planning Cell of E&SED in KP, Establishment of Dir Model School at Dir Upper, GGHSS at Khwaja Rashak PK-24 Mardan, GGHSS at Mir Aman Killi Jahangir Abad PK-26 Mardan, GGHSS at Bamolai, PK-97 Dir Lower, GGHSS Nishot, PK-90 Chitral, GGHSS Behram Khel in PK-75 Lakki Marwat, GGHSS at Dabli Lawager PK-41 District Karak, GGHSS Chanda Khurram at VcJatta Ismail Khel PK-40 Karak" GHSS Onadherai PK-84 Swat, GHSS Kala kelay PK-83 Swat, GHS Dagha Patay PK-82 Swat, GHSS Mongay Balambat PK-94 Dir Lower, Standardization of 200 Higher Secondary Schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Phase-I) SH:GHSS Chakai Kohistan.
The projects approved in Higher Education Sector were included the establishment of GDC Razar PK-32 District Swabi, Establishment of GDC Khurram Par District Lakki Marwat, Construction of building for Directorate of Higher Education, Project Management Unit for implementation of BS program and special initiatives, Establishment of 15 Govt Colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Boys and Girls (Phase-IV) Establishment of GDC Lora Abbottabad.
Similarly, the projects approved in Sports & Tourism Sector were included Improvement and Restoration& Rehabilitation of Existing Sports facilities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Up gradation of BHU Barshawar to RHC, District Swat, Up gradation of BHU Darmal to RHC in Tehsil Matta, District Swat, Establishment of Children & Maternity Hospital Charsadda were approved in health sector while one project "Construction of Social Welfare Complex at Nowshera" was approved in social welfare sector.
In the civic facilities sector, the projects approved were included Installation of Solar Augmentation/Irrigation Tube Wells in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Improvement /Construction of Canals, Channels, Drainage system and Flood Protection Structures in District Charsadda, Improvement & Up gradation of roads and Construction of Bridges along Canals/Drains in District Charsadda, Construction/ improvement of roads along canals and drains including link roads in Kheshki Bala and Payan area district Nowshera, Improvement/lining of Rashakai Minor & Up gradation of Canal Patrol Road /VR Culverts along Rashakai Minor, Bara Banda Minor, Nowshera Minor & Torlandi Minor, Mardan Irrigation Division, Construction/ Improvement of Irrigation Channels, Bridges, Culverts, Small storage ponds & Drainage Systems in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Construction /Installation of Augmentation /Irrigation Tube Wells in District Charsadda, Construction and Improvement of Irrigation Infrastructure including FPW, channels roads & Tube Wells in Adenzai and adjoining areas of District Dir Lower, Construction/ Improvement of Canal Patrol Road along Mala Minor/ Kamran Zeb Shaheed Road from head to tail Mardan, Improvement & Widening of Road along Pehur Main Canal & its sub System, Partugai Drainage System & other small tributaries District Swabi, Improvement of Canal Patrol Road along Lower Swat Canal, District Charsadda, Construction of Road on Right Side along Disty No 6 from Charsadda Takht Bai road crossing to Motorway Interchange and Kiramat Minor, District Charsadda, Revamping of Jindi River District Charsadda.
The only project of the Local Government Sector approved by the Provincial Development Working Party was the Development Package for District Buner while one project of the multi-sectoral development sector was also approved. The approved projects in road sector were included F/S, Design and Construction of RCC Bridge at Ayun, Chitral, Peshawar Ring Road to Badaber via Surezai (16 KM) (Phase-I), Dist. Peshawar, Const of a) Asband Swat (3 km) b) Shursheen c) Joro Kashmir (2 km) d) Ghazo Chat Pat e) Deghan (1 km) f) DheriTesko (3 km) g) Oskai(1.5 km) i) Laiko (1 km) j) NawKalay Bochake(2 km) k) Mayar Dogha(2 km) Dir Lower, Project Implementation Unit (PIU) ADB Assisted "Provincial Road Rehabilitation Project, Rehabilitation of internal roads in Chitral and Drosh cities, District Chitral, Re-construction of Bridge at Tor Warsak Daggar & widening/ improvement & BT of 18 KM leftover portion of Swarai Pir Qilla Puran Road, District Buner.
