Sui Southern Gas Company alongside its core activities of transmission and distribution of natural gas executes a vibrant Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program with a sole objective of improving quality of life of lesser privileged people.
As a part of its CSR academic initiatives, SSGC's team visited Markaz-e-Umeed to hand over the facilitation cheque for construction of a new block at their premise that would be used as 'Early Intervention Unit'. SSGC's contingent comprised of Shahbaz Islam, Head of Corporate Communications, Colonel Shoaib Ahmed (retd), and Head of Administration, Salman A. Siddiqui, Dy. General Manager Corporate Communications, Muhammad Ali Gohar, Chief Manager, Media Relations and members of CSR team. Markaz-e-Umeed is an institution for mentally and physically handicapped children and is in operation since 1971. The Markaz located at Karimabad, Karachi imparts free of charge quality education and transportation with love and care to these special children and till date has helped more than 10,000 handicapped students in getting special education and training during past 45 years. They also help these slow learners in finding useful means to employ their skills thus making them useful members of their households and society.
Shahbaz Islam presented the cheque to Zeeshan Siddiqui, Director Markaz-e-Umeed and while expressing his views said that SSGC will continue to support the noble cause of this distinctive institution. While speaking on the occasion Salman Siddiqui showed his delight on the efforts put in by the Markaz for children with special needs. Zeeshan Siddiqui expressed his gratitude for Sui Southern and said that this financial contribution will go a long way in helping special children in their early stages of life.-PR
