A seminar on intellectual property rights in Pakistan was jointly organised by Quality Enhancement Cell, Hamdard University and Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan (IPO-Pakistan at Hamdard University, Main Campus, Karachi. The key objective of the seminar was to raise awareness among research scholars and students about the concept of Intellectual Property Rights and how to deal with IP issues in Pakistan.
The seminar presentations were made on Intellectual Property Rights in Pakistan & Economic Development. Introduction to Patents, Introduction to Copyright and Introduction to Trademark by IPO-Pakistan officials namely Syed Nasrullah, Deputy Director, Trade Mark Registry, Tafseer Fatima, Patent Examiner Patent Office and Niaz Ahmed Lashari, Examiner, Copyright Office respectively.
The seminar was attended by Deans, Directors and Principals of constituent institutes of Hamdard University and the administrative heads. Earlier, while welcoming the IPO-Pakistan officials to Hamdard University, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Hakim Abdul Hannan highlighted the need and importance of intellectual property rights.-PR
