China has proposed Quetta-Kabul and Peshawar-Kabul railway Line to link Pakistan and Afghanistan, according to the Afghan media's reports. A statement issued here says, the proposal was put forward by Chinese Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Kong Xuanyou in a meeting with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani this week.
Xuanyou said that Afghanistan is of vital importance for the economic belt of China. He recommended initiation of trilateral discussions involving Afghanistan, China, and Pakistan over Peshawar, Kabul and Quetta railways as well as economic corridors and regional cooperation. Welcoming the Chinese proposal of Quetta-Kabul and Peshawar-Kabul railway tracks, Ashraf Ghani said Afghanistan wants to have good ties and friendly relations with all its neighbours for the progress and prosperity of entire region.
