Super Mashshak aircraft: defence panel informed of Nigeria, Turkey sale deals
The Chairman of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) Kamra has informed the Standing Committee on Defence Production about the successful sale agreements of Super Mashshak aircraft with Nigeria and Turkey. He also informed the committee that the PAC enjoys vast experience and capacity of manufacturing the Super Mashshak within the agreed time frame.
He further informed the committee that PAC's engineers have repaired Awacas Aircraft, which had been damaged during a terrorist attack. The chairman PAC further added that seventy (70) JF-17 thunder aircraft have been handed over to Pakistan Air Force (PAF) for its operational activities.
The Standing Committee on Defence Production met in the Parliament under the chairmanship of MNA Khawaja Sohail Mansoor regarding briefing on the agreement of Super Mashshak aircraft with Nigeria and Turkey. The committee appreciated the performance of former CoAS General (Retd) Raheel Sharif, especially his concentration over operation Zarb-e-Azb, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Line of Control (LoC) situation. The committee paid homage to his unsurpassed efficiency and excellence, being a courageous commander of the Pakistan Army.
The committee members expressed their best wishes for General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the incumbent Chief of Army Staff. The committee expressed its confidence in the capability and experience of General Qamar Javed Bajwa. The committee expressed hope that he will carry on the mission and vision of his predecessor for the betterment of the Pakistan Army and Pakistani nation.
The committee appreciated the secretary ministry of defence production and all services chiefs for holding a successful and meaningful exhibition, IDEAS-2016. The committee also appreciated the role of minister for defence production for supervising a huge event. The Secretary, MoDP thanked the members of the committee on their participation in IDEAS-2016.
The committee unanimously recommended that next meeting of the committee would be convened shortly and senior officials of all law enforcement agencies ie police, Rangers, Frontier Constabulary and all chief secretaries would be invited to discuss the arms procurement etc from the local industries. The committee decided that MD, PPRA and provincial heads of PPRA would also be called in this regard.
