Both the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf want Supreme Court to hear and decide the Panama Papers leaks case and they don't want that judicial commission replaces the Supreme Court, according to Aaj News. Barrister Zafarullah, advisor to the prime minister and Asad Umar, a leader of PTI spoke at Aaj News talk show Faisla Aap Ka hosted by renowned anchor Asma Shirazi.
Barrister Zafarullah said that government wants the Supreme Court hear and decide the case. He said that if the chief justice was retired, the bench would be rendered incomplete and the new bench would hear the case from the beginning. PTI leader Asad Umar said that both the parties agreed that Supreme Court should not form judicial commission but itself hear the case. He said that PTI lawyers had submitted many documents in the court and our evidences have raised questions. He said that government say one thing on TV channels and another thing in the court. He emphasised that we must trust the court no matter if a new bench is formed.
Speaking at 'Islamabad Tonight,' hosted by anchor person Rehman Azhar, Sheikh Rashid said that only Sirajul Haq of Jamaat-e-Islami had favoured the judicial commission otherwise all want the Supreme Court to hear and decide the Panama leaks case. He accused Nawaz Sharif of earning $300 million in kickbacks from the Motorway project. He said that NAB team had gone to Switzerland after Robert Hush divulged facts of his secret account but then Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz seemed to had struck a deal with Nawaz Sharif hence he didn't allow NAB to take action.
He said that Nawaz's business was politics and his politics was business. He said Nawaz case was based on lies. He requested the Court to hold daily hearing of the case regularly even during court holidays in view of the importance of the case. He said Super Powers could not let those leaders play independent role who owns properties in foreign countries.
