Pakistan's import of pulses shot up by 29.41 percent to $233.291 million in July-October 2016, according to official figures. Rise in pulses import stands at $53.021 million in July-October 2016 from the commodity's import of $180.270 million in July-October 2015, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics showed. In term of volume: pulses import however plunged by over 12 percent or 37, 022 metric tons to 266,669 metric tons in July-October 2016 from 303, 691 metric tons in July-October 2015.
In October 2016, pulses import went up by 15.43 percent or $6.661 million to $49.819 million from $43.158 million in October 2015. Quantity of pulses import however slumped by 17 percent or 12,389 metric tons to 61,306 metric tons in October 2016 from 73,695 metric tons in October 2015.
