Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affair Sartaj Aziz will leave for Bahrain today on a two-day official visit to attend 'The Manama Dialogue', in which more than 20 counties are participating. According to Foreign Office spokesperson, Nafees Zakaria, the Manama Dialogue is being organised jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain and British think tank, International Institute of Strategic Studies (IISS).
The Crown Prince of Bahrain, Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa will inaugurate the event. Besides Ministerial level participation from several important countries, he said leading international opinion makers, experts, heads of organisations, and international media will also take part in "The Manama Dialogue".
He said Sartaj Aziz will be a keynote speaker on December 11 at Manama Dialogue. He will present Pakistan's perspective on prevailing and emerging security challenges facing the region and the world at large. He further stated that Pakistan's Ambassador to Bahrain Javed Malik would be organising the Adviser's bilateral meetings with the Foreign Minister of Bahrain, Shaikh Khalid Bin Ahmad Al Khalifa, and ministers of other countries, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UK, and Canada among others. Sartaj Aziz will also meet the Secretary General of Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC), he added.
