A division bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday issued non-bailable arrest warrants of a criminal assault suspect Adnan Sanaullah, former office-bearer of the PML-N Youth Wing, as he failed to appear before the court in prosecution's appeal against decision of a trial court allowing him bail.
The court directed the police to produce the suspect before the court on December 23. Additional Prosecutor General Abdul Samad requested the court to issue non-bailable arrest warrants for constant failure of the accused to appear before the court. The prosecution department in its appeal contended that sessions court granted bail to Adnan Sanaullah after the victim girl tendered an affidavit in his favour.
It said the affidavit filed by the girl was a result of pressure exerted on her family by the accused party. The Race Course police had arrested prime suspect Adnan Sanaullah and his seven accomplices on charges of abducting a teenage girl and subjecting her to criminal assault.
