The speakers of the rally of civil society demanded the respect of human rights and formation of strict laws against violators so that the people of Pakistan could live in the country with equal rights of living in the society. The rally was arranged by the Task Force of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan in connection with the World Human Rights Day which attended by the representatives of various political and social welfare organisations as well as journalists union, teachers and lawyers association.
The rally taken out from Sindh University Old Campus to Hyderabad Press Club on Saturday, was attended among others by Professor Mushtaq Mirani, Imdad Chandio, Dr Ashu Thama, Taj Mari, Asghar Leghari, Suhail Sangi, Fareeda Channa, Fazal Qadir Memon, Naqeebur Rehman Khero, Sehar Rizvi, Haseen Mussarat, Ghafrana Arain, Imran Ali and Jameelur Rehman.
The speakers including Professor Mushtaq Mirani and Dr Ashu Thama strongly criticised the feudalism, contract system and unemployment in the country and said that these issues are the main which put the peace, progress and prosperity of the country on stack.
They underlined the need of strict legal action against the violators of human rights, stoppage of extra judicial killings and registration of false cases against innocent people including peasants, workers and political activists. They called upon the leadership of political parties and social worker organisation to take sincere steps for meeting out these challenges which are the hurdles on way of peace, progress and prosperity in the country. They also demanded the protection of journalists and media organisations by carrying out effective legislation for provision of free, fair and peaceful atmosphere for them.
