Despite tall claims of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police regarding strict security arrangements in the city, the cases of burglary, abduction and murder witnessed an increase during the past week as various police stations registered seven cases of armed robbery, four cases of women kidnappings, besides murder of three persons was reported.
According to the crime statistics collected by Business Recorder here on Saturday, various police stations of the city registered a total of 23 cases including robbery, murder, kidnappings and fake cheque. During the period under review, the criminal gangs had a field day in the limits of Koral, Aabpara, Kohsar and Lohi Bher police stations.
Koral Police Station registered two cases of robbery and one case of murder during the last week. Bagh Hussain of Tarlia lodged a complaint with the Koral police station that two unknown assailants riding a bike had shot dead his nephew Barkat Hussain. Shafqat Ali of Ghauri town phase-II registered a complaint with the Koral Police Station that his maid Sobia mixed poison in edibles which made them unconscious and then she stole gold ornaments and cash from his house.
In another incident, one Sajid informed the Koral Police Station that three unknown armed robbers stormed into his shop and snatched cash from him. During the last week, Aabpara Police Station registered one case each of fake cheque, kidnapping and murder. Muhammad Tariq lodged a complaint with the Aabpara police station that the accused Noor Wali and Abdur Rauf had kidnapped his daughter.
In another incident, unknown assailants killed a person Chaudhary Nisar in connection with a property dispute. Kohsar Police Station registered two cases of dishonoured cheque and one case of murder during the period. Abdullah registered a complaint with the Kohsar Police Station that the dead body of his son Zarab Abbasi, a native of Murree was recovered from Daman-e-Koh, Islamabad, who had been killed by unknown people. The remains of the dead body had been found near Daman-e-Koh by villagers looking for wood. Raheel Abbasi informed the Bhara Kahu Police Station that cash, gold ornaments, cheques and other necessary documents were stolen from his house. He suspected the accused Mansoon Akhtar and Salman might be involved in the incident. Another victim, Sarfraz lodge a complaint with the Tarnol Police Station that he was on his way traveling by Suzuki pickup, when three armed persons, ridding a bike, intercepted him and snatched mobile phone, cash and registration from him at gunpoint.
Ayesha Bibi lodged a compliant with the Ramana Police Station that the accused Hamid Pervez and Usman had kidnapped his daughter. In another incident, unknown robbers stole 17 mobile phones, laptop and cash from his shop located in the limits of Lohi Bher Police Station.
Kala Khan of Jhangi Syedan lodged a complaint with the Noon Police Station that the accused Jahangir and Bilal had kidnapped his wife. Another victim, Farrukh Nisar of Burma town registered a complaint with the Khanna Police Station that two unknown armed persons broke into his mobile shop and snatched cash and mobile phone at gunpoint and escaped from the scene.
