A mix trend in prices of essential food commodities, including pulses, vegetable, sugar, chicken, eggs, has witnessed as rates of some items decreased while other increased slightly in retail market, according to survey conducted by Business Recorder here on Sunday.
A one-kilogram good quality rice has increased from Rs 110/- from Rs 100 while price of toota rice is stable as available at Rs 50 per kilogram. Price of Dal mash has also decreased substantially, as being sold at Rs180 per kilogram, against selling price of Rs 280 per kg, during the preceding week.
Likewise, a slight decrease in rate of Dal masoor was witnessed as available at Rs 140 per kilogram, against the Rs 160, while one kilogram Dal channa being sold at Rs 170.
Price of sugar has also fall in retail market as available at Rs 62/- per kilogram, which was selling at Rs 72/- whereas rate of gram flour (baisen) has gone up by Rs 170 per kilogram, against the previous price of Rs 140 per kg in retail market.
According to survey, Dal green priced at Rs 140 per kilogram, big kabali white channa being available at 160 per kg, against the selling price of Rs 170 in preceding week. Red bean is being sold at Rs 110 and Rs 120 per kg, white lobiya available at Rs 120 per kilogram, moonge is being sold at Rs 140 per kg.
The survey noticed the prices of ghee/cooking oil of different brands and companies are stable in retail market as available within range of Rs 140/- Rs 155 and Rs 170 per kilogram/litre.
Prices of garlic and ginger, which is mostly used item of kitchen, have been soared up in retail market, which being sold at Rs 400 per kilogram and Rs 200 per kilogram respectively, the survey noticed.
A 50 per cent cut has been registered in percent of tomato as being sold at Rs 50 per kilogram, which was selling at Rs 100 per kilogram in preceding week, while the onion is being sold at Rs 30 and Rs 20 per kilogram in retail market.
According the survey, the prices of other vegetable have remained unchanged but available at reasonable price. Red potato is being sold at Rs 40 per kilogram, while white color potato available at Rs 20 per kilogram.
Peas is being sold at Rs 150 per kilogram, arvi at Rs 70 per kilogram, capsicum at Rs 100 per kilogram, turnip at Rs 20 per kilogram, cucumber at Rs 40 per kg, calabash at Rs 50 per kg, the survey noticed.
The survey witnessed that one-kilogram chicken priced at Rs 126/- in retail market, while a dozen of farm eggs are being sold at Rs 130 and Rs 140 in retail market. Cow meat is being sold at Rs 340 per kilogram, while mutton available at Rs 700 per kilogram.
The fruits, which is staple food, are being available at high price, as one-kilogram golden apple being sold at Rs 200/- and while red color apple available within range of Rs 100 and Rs 80 per kilogram. Guava being sold at Rs 50 per kilogram, pomegranate being available at Rs 120 and Rs 100 per kilogram, a dozen of banana is being available at Rs 50 and Rs 40/- in retail market.
