Unprecedented fairness maintained in by-polls: Fayaz ul Hassan
LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Fayaz ul Hassan Chohan Monday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan must be credited with holding of free, fair and transparent by-polls in the country.
In his interaction with media here, he said the degree of fairness in elections was unprecedented in the political history of the country, adding that Imran Khan and his team deserved accolades.
To a question, he said the government maintained complete impartiality, adding that no institution including the Police, local Administration, Bait-ul-Mall or Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) staff was used to influence the results of by-elections.
The Punjab Information Minister said no federal or provincial minister or advisor addressed the public meetings during election campaign or canvassed for the PTI candidates.
Fayaz said development funds were used to get favourable election results and dupe the public in the past, adding that government machinery and institutions were also misused for the purpose.
He said even the mastermind of PML-N have publicly acknowledged the transparency maintained during the recently held by-elections.
The provincial minister said success of PTI and his allies on six out of eleven National Assembly (NA) seats is a glaring evidence of the confidence people of Pakistan have reposed in Prime Minister Imran Khan and his policies.
