Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb Sunday said people's confidence had restored as the law and order situation improved due to the PML-N government's efforts and increasing number of visitors to parks was a manifestation of it.
Terrorism incidents had decreased significantly during last three years, she said while taking to media persons at the opening ceremony of Chrysanthemum (Gul-e-Daoudi) Flower Show here at Nawaz Sharif Park. Local leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) were also present on the occasion.
She said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had launched many mega development projects during his last tenures and now the country was reaping their fruits.
The present PML-N government, she added, had also initiated a large number of country-wide uplift projects, which no other political party in power had ever done. She said today the country was more prosperous and developed as compared to the past.
Marriyum said the prime minister continued serving the public despite unjustified protests, demonstrations, sit-ins and politics of baseless allegations. She said the Nawaz government had streamlined the health sector in the country and provided modern equipment to hospitals for ensuring better health facilities to the public.
The prime minister had announced to build 26 new hospitals across the country, besides a modern transport system for the citizens of Karachi, she said. The government was committed to ensure supremacy of law and constitution, she added.
She said the Rawalpindi city had witnessed many political ups and downs. However, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had carried out a lot of development work in the city. The public transport facility of international standard was provided to the people of Rawalpindi and Islamabad by the PML-N leadership in the shape of Metro Bus Service, she added. Its government, she said, had also taken several initiatives to improve the cleanliness system of Rawalpindi.
Replying to a question about the demands of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, she said politics should not be restricted to only four points.
